ROCHESTER,NYDemocraticCandidateforMonroeCountyExecutiveSandyFrankelmadethefollowingstatementregardingthecurrentadministration'smishandlingofthesituationsurroundingCountyCommunicationDirectorJustinFeasel.Sandywillbeavailableforfollowupcommentsthroughouttheday.

"Lastweek,IjoinedfellowconcernedresidentsincallingfortheMonroeCountyDirectorofCommunicationsJustinFeaseltobefiredafterallowinghiswifetooperatehiscountyownedvehiclewhileintoxicated.HisabuseofpowerextendedtoaphonecallatthesceneaskingtheMonroeCountySherifftointervene,whichtheSheriffrefusedtodo.Shortlyafter,Feasel'sboss,currentMonroeCountyExecutiveMaggieBrooks,cametohisdefensecrying"badpolitics",notingthatthiswasa"sensitivepersonnelmatter".

WhereMaggiemissesthemarkisthefactthatthetreatmentofthispersonnelmatter

contradictstheoutcomeintheDWIarrestandlaterconvictionofDirectorofAviationSusanWalshwasseveralyearsago.Atthattime,Brookscondemneddrinkinganddrivinginacountyvehicle,saying"thereisnowiggleroominthepolicyaboutdrinkinganddriving,especiallywhenyou'redrivingacountyvehicle."Followingthisincident,WalshresignedherpositionasDirectorofAviation.

Now,Brooksismakingexcusesforhersixfigurecountysalarycrony,givinghimwhat

amountstoaslaponthewristforendangeringthelivesofothersthroughthemisuseofhiscountyvehicle.Unfortunately,thisisjustthelatestincidentinoveradecadeofcronyismandcorruptionincountygovernment,whichIhavepledgedtoend.

Whatisinteresting,however,isthatfromRobutradconvictionsforconstructionworkwithcountyresourcesonprivateproperty,toRobertWiesnersindictmentforbidrigging,toJustinFeaselsdangerousactionswithacountycar,myopponent,CherylDinolfohasremainedsilent,deflectingtopartyleaderslikeBillReilichandMaggieBrookstimeandagain.

Iaminterestedtoknowhowmyopponentwouldhandlethissituationifitwereuptoher.

DoesshethinkJustinFeaselshouldbefired?

OverthecourseofthiscampaignIhavebeentakingstrongpositionsoncontroversialissuesbecausethatiswhatagoodleaderdoes.Makenomistake,IwillcontinuetocallattentiontothenumerousproblemsplaguingthisCountywhileCherylDinolfostandssilentbehindpartybossesuntilElectionDay.
