The new online application
W hy t he change?
The volume of enquiry during the application increasesenormously, especially in the week preceding application closure. The queries are often related to the generic, and therefore unclear, layout of the RACS application system
Utilising the same system as other surgical specialties causedconfusion about differing requirements, resulting in more errors
GSA staff had no control over the level of service offered toapplicants
The new sy st em : Prompts the user to query anything the system does not permit
Provides section by section guidelines unique to the GeneralSurgery application
Requires less data entry, requiring applicable information only
