Works of the landscape architect and planner often require extended time frames and multi-layered engagements with municipalities, community groups and public/private institutions. Implementing positive and sustainable environmental change is a slow process. The lecture will urge graduates to embrace the future with patience and persistence, holding to their values on the long road ahead. We will explore several examples to illustrate this perspective through excerpts from my academic and professional projects in U.S., Sweden, Rome, Panama and China.
