Images have been used for thousands of years
• First images were found inside caves in northern Spain
Very few people saw them and they took a long time to create
Today, anyone with a cell phone can quickly create and disseminate images around the world
Images get our attention
Why?
We are highly sophisticated seeing machines
• More than any other species, we use our sight as a way to gather information
• There are inherent limitations of language as a description tool
“We now create more information in two days than we created from the dawn of man up until 2003” - Google CEO Eric Schmidt (2010)

All Text Instructions for Using a Fire Extinguisher
Source: OSHA.gov
1. PULL... Pull the pin. This will also break the tamper seal.
2. AIM... Aim low, pointing the extinguisher nozzle (or its horn or hose) at the base of the fire.
Note: Do not touch the plastic discharge horn on CO2 extinguishers, it gets very cold and may damage skin.
3. SQUEEZE... Squeeze the handle to release the extinguishing agent.
4.SWEEP... Sweep from side to side at the base of the fire until it appears to be out. Watch the area. If the fire re-ignites, repeat steps 2 - 4.
If you have the slightest doubt about your ability to fight a fire....EVACUATE IMMEDIATELY!
