Power Station Plant and Coal Mine Plant

„Turów”BOGATYNIA - POLAND

At the meeting point of three boarders: Poland, the Czech Republik and Germany there is Power Station Plant and Coal Mine Plant „Turów”.

The power station has been working since 1962. It is one of the biggest producers of electric energy in Poland.

The power plant is one of the most modern and ecological enterprices in Europe.

It uses technologies which are in favour of protecting

the environment.

The power plant attaches great importance to

activities of environmental protection and constant reduction of carbon dioxide and

sulphur oxides emission.

The power plant „Turów” is the biggest industrial plant in the region and one of the biggest in Poland.

The plant would not function without the

existence of the Coal Mine Plant „Turów”

The Coal Mine plant has an enormous pit „the hole in the ground” in a shape of a bowl with the depth of 210 metres and area of 24 square km.

There is a original monument in front of the coal mine plant building – a huge

fossilized tree trunk which is 18 milion years old.

In the coal mine work enormous machines:excevators

dumping conveyors

A lot of space take belt conveyors which transport the brown coal to the power plant.

The Power Plant and the Coal Mine Plant belong to Polish Energetic Group.
