Time vs. East Haddam’s Historical School House

Nathan Hale-Ray School was built in 1923. Eventually it became just a middle school, and an elementary and

high school were built.

In 2009 a new middle school was built, and the original school house closed down. Since then, the building has

been left to rot.

The school was intended to be remodeled and made the new town hall, but plans were terminated for disclosed reasons.

Being as the school is in a heavy traffic area for residents, the information sign was used as town billboard. However,

due to vandalism the sign is no longer used.

A glimpse of the torn apart hallways where students used to roam.

Many acts of Vandalism have further ruined the building.

Many sections of this building are over grown with plants, even inside the doors.

Broken glass surrounds the entire building. There have been no clean ups or renovations, nor are

any planned.
