WHAT IS THE TOURISM MANAGEMENT CLUB

• This is a Tourism & Hospitality oriented club @ C.U.T that aims to enhance the learning experience for members who share a common interest. This is done by facilitating active participation in weekly meetings, fundraising, community service, lecture events, social get-togethers, and field trips. The club’s activities will be designed specifically to stimulate interest in local tourist attractions and promote geo -tourism initiatives. The organization also intends to provide members with opportunities for networking with the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism, and potential employers, as well as to forge connections between members themselves.

WHAT REALLY IS THE PROBLEM

• It`s been discovered, that most graduates coming out of college, don`t have the relevant on-job, hands-on approach in terms of techniques, skills, experience among others. It is very sad to note that our former brothers and sisters who have graduated, mostly with first class degrees are finding it difficult to get jobs in the industry. The Hospitality & Tourism employers, are opting to employ less qualified personnel on various job prospects because attaches and fresh graduates don’t have the capacity to perform, and generally they lack that sort of zeal and enthusiasm if they are given the chance to perform, interviews are done, and a student or graduate passes, but the real problem is on the job field, were one fails to apply what he has learnt in college in job practice.
