BenidormBenidorm has been one of the most representative towns of tourism and leisure at all levels, both in Spain and Europe for several decades.This is a city designed for the enjoyment of visitors.

Playa de Poniente in Benidorm
Beyond the old part, La Playa de Poniente is a very extensive sand surface shaped curl of excellent quality.
If you do not like crowded places, Poniente be your best choice because it tends to be less busy.

Journalists Island The island of Benidorm has always represented the very image that this city has managed to convey throughout the world as a holiday destination point of many cultures.
Despite being an island of small surface itself it is part of the landscape framing the bay of Benidorm, being approximately equidistant between the two beaches that line the coast of the city. For this reason, the image of the island associated with the beaches of Benidorm is a mark for all residents who visit the city.
Benidorm Island rock mass forms a triangular appearance (viewed from the beach) and a 6.57 hectares, with a maximum length of 350 m and a maximum width of 260 m. It presents an abrupt relief that reaches 73 meters high and is separated from the coast by about 2.5 miles from the sea.
It is an extension in southwestern sense rocky massif of Sierra Frost, located east of the city. It consists of limestone and marl rocks of the Lower Cretaceous Aptian period, constituting prebéticas arc ridges (internal Prebético system), lacking only fertile soil, this being a limiting factor the presence of vegetation.
Its origin is discussed, and understood or, from the point of view of profit peninsula sea and subsequent isolation, or from the point of view of new training through tectonic processes.

St James Church in BenidormThe Church of St. James, patron of the city, is seated at the top of the old town, on a hill called Canfali. City Hall of Benidorm
At the entrance of L'Aigüera Park, there is a very different monument that greets visitors, is the new City Hall.
Its unusual structure has aroused the interest of architects and many visits. It is a bridge building that makes door to the green L'Aigüera. L'Aiguera ParkAnother place that should be approached is the Aigüera Park. Designed by architect Ricardo Bofill, this green area is the neoclassical style, a long park that splits the extension of a zone of recent construction.
Two amphitheatres serve to hold shows and cultural events during the summer and ends in the bullring park and a room prepared for fairs held accompanying the various parties. Prehistoric Iberic town of The Tossal in Benidorm
At the end of the Poniente beach, it is the Iberian settlement of Tossal de La Cala. The hill that closes Benidorm Bay to the west was a late Iberian settlement (S. III- I a. C.). You can see the area restored rising since the end of the Poniente beach and looking for the intersection of La Cala; from here signage leading to the area can be followed.

Morales tower and Punta del Cavall tower in Benidorm
Other vestiges of the past and declared of Cultural Interest (BIC) are the Torre Morales or Escaletes a watchtower eighteenth century where the guards scanned the horizon to avoid the numerous pirate raids. Maritime Cultural Center Benidorm
This is a permanent exhibition of model ships and nautical motifs. Reminder of the major shipping companies carried out by the old Benidorm, (Merchant marine, traps, etc.). Free entrance.

Agricultural Museum of Benidorm
Located in Central Park Recreation and Leisure LAigüera (next to the Plaza de Toros), the Agricultural Museum allows us to discover the agricultural tools, a plow, a waterwheel and a cart as well as a large number of essential utensils field work. Free entrance.
