The Fluorescence Dive Experience
Fluorescence Diving
• What fluorescence is.
• What equipment you need to see or photograph
fluorescence.
• What you are going to see on your fluorescence dive.
• What good is fluorescence?
– For the animal
– For the scientist
• Fluorescence where you are

Making a Fluorescence Dive
• Night
• Use your white light to navigate and orient yourself
• Switch over to blue light, make sure you have the
yellow filter in front of your eyes
• Use your white light only as needed to:– Re-orient yourself
– Signal your buddy (they won' t see the blue!)
– Find out what it is that is fluorescing
• Etiquette – don' t point your white light where your buddy or other fluorescence divers are looking
• Discover a new world
