GLOBAL STUDY EXPERIENCE (ISM, Frankfurt, Germany) In today’s competitive environment, maintaining and creating international relationships are key skill that all managers are expected to have. Global Study program is part of my “PGDM course”, in which I chose for Frankfurt. As Frankfurt is a global hub for finance, commerce, culture, education, tourism and traffic. It is the most important financial Centre. After two weeks’ intensive orientation program at IILM, I left for Germany on 3 rd July 2016. It was an eight hours journey, which was really smooth and comfortable. Once we landed Frankfurt airport, I quickly grabbed my bags, and start searching for Wi-Fi connections to contact or family and friends, moreover to update status and pictures on social networking sites. After that I got past the immigration easily and was all set to board our bus to Galluswarte, which was about 15-20 minutes’ drive. Then I reached to my hostel and collected my room keys, one-month travel pass (we can use any transport and visit whole Frankfurt by using this card) and college I-card. We reached in the evening by 10:30. Location of my hostel was really nice, as it was near metro station, bus and tramp station. One thing more was the proximity to mall and retain stores. My friend Manisha was my roommate; I am obliged to global study program which made our friendship stronger. Room was really nice having all the basic facilities.

GLOBAL STUDY EXPERIENCE(ISM, Frankfurt, Germany)

In today’s competitive environment, maintaining and creating international relationships are key skill that all managers are expected to have. Global Study program is part of my “PGDM course”, in which I chose for Frankfurt. As Frankfurt is a global hub for finance, commerce, culture, education, tourism and traffic. It is the most important financial Centre.

After two weeks’ intensive orientation program at IILM, I left for Germany on 3rd July 2016.

The very next morning me and my five friends went out to explore nearby places. In afternoon all the students along with our teacher went to International School of Management (ISM), our college for Global Study. We were given a brief of all the courses, what we were going to study over there. After that college faculty took us for Frankfurt tour. They showed us all the Frankfurt areas like income tax building, bank, PWC building, riverside (my personal favorite place in Frankfurt). Frankfurt is really safe, clean, peaceful, convenient and a modern city to live. People are very punctual and diet conscious. One can find different kind of breads, as bread is staple food for Germans.

From the next day I started with my college and studies. I used to go by 8:30 a.m. and coming back to the hostel by 5 p.m. from college. With Frankfurt me and my five friends also planned to explore the Europe in weekends. Our first destination was Prague. Prague is the most beautiful place I have ever visit, people

over there are busy in enjoying their life. It seems like they are celebrating each day. We visited many shops, church, castle and Charles Bridge. At night we went to our rented apartment to sleep. Next day we left for Frankfurt.

In second week, besides with study we went to Paris first, where we visited Eiffel tower. In the evening the Eiffel Tower looks so beautiful with lightening effects. After Paris we went to Amsterdam, again a beautiful place. Most of the people there use bicycle to visit nearby places.

In third week, we planned to study as we were having exams in the fourth week. So we followed our regular routine with some self-study. We used to go riverside in the evening, after college, to get relaxed. College faculty and one senior of ISM took us for industrial visit to Opel and Deutsche bank, which was a great learning. We came to know about German market, culture, lifestyle of people over there. In the weekend, we decided to visit Heidelberg, which was a one-day return trip. It was in the outskirts of the Frankfurt. We saw castle, museum, river and an old church. In the evening we came back to hostel and from the next day we started studying for approaching exams.

In last week, we had our exams, which was good. Next day ISM planned a cultural visit of Germany for us. The last two days we did our shopping, I bought lots of chocolates and gifts for my relatives. We bought many cosmetic items from DM as they are cheaper in price in Germany. On 29th of July 2016, we had our flight for Delhi. It was really a great and life time experience for me, I missed my family and friends a lot and especially Indian food. Learned many things, became more self-dependent and confident. I transformed into a responsible person and now I can visit anywhere in Europe alone. I would like to thanks IILM and my teacher Devika Sharma ma’am for giving me this opportunity.
