Exploring the BVI Destinations
Tortola BVI The largest and the most populated island that covers a surface
area of around 55.7 square kilometers.
This mountainous island has Mount Sage as its highest peak at 530 meters.
The northern coast of this island is known for its beautiful beaches including Long Bay, Brewer’s Bay, Lambert beach, etc.
Also, you can enjoy sailing, scuba diving, windsurfing and cruise tours.
Virgin Gorda Islands The third largest and the second most populous island here that
covers about 8 square miles of area.
The Baths, an unusual geologic formation is one of the most attractive tourist spots here.
Also, Copper Mine is amongst the most notable ruins of the island.
Other attractions include North Sound or the Garda Sound that is one of the world’s renowned harbours.
Anegada Islands
Lying to the northernmost of the BVI, Anegada is one of the most sparsely populated islands here.
An interesting thing about this island is that it has originated from coral and limestone and is flat and low in terms of geography.
Its miles long sandy beaches, large salt ponds and views of endangered animals like Anegada rock iguana and some species of turtles are worth a visit.
Jost Van Dyke BVI
Spanning over 8 square kilometers of area, this island has mountainous and volcanic origins as most of the islands of BVI.
A famous tourist attraction here is Belle Vue, where you will find bars and eating spots on the beach strip around this harbour.
Soggy Dollar Bar located near White Bay is another spot popular as the originator of Painkiller drink.
Beef Island Airport
Located to the east of Tortola island, Beef island is the site of the main commercial airport, Terrance B. Lettsome International Airport serving Tortola and rest of the BVI.
A small town called Trellis Bay with restaurants, local craft shops, cafes, etc. lies near to the airport and has a beach too.
