Travel wisely ü Find out as much as you can about the wildlife, culture and history of your destination. ü Support the local economy by using locally-owed services and buying regional produce ü Don’t buy products like ivory, coral or tortoiseshell, which are made from endangered species. ü Corals are living creatures, easily damaged just by touch. ü Protect the local environment – dispose of litter carefully andavoid disturbing or damaging wildlife or plants. ü Conserve energy, turn off lights and air conditioning, and save
water. ü Ask permission before taking photographs of local people, show respect for religious symbols and rituals

ü You can help conservation efforts by visiting parks and reserves. Your
support will encourage local authorities to protect their heritage.
ü If you witness or encounter environmental abuses, please write to the
country’s tourist board or an environmental organization. If you have any
comments or suggestions we would be glad to hear from you.
