On arrival at Yangon International Airport, you are welcomed by our Tour Guide and transferred to your Hotel. After refreshment, you embark on a city tour including:(1) China Town noted for its fruit market, delicious street foods and old world atmosphere.(2) Downtown Yangon”s Sule Pagoda, City Hall, Independence monument and old colonial buildings.( as time permits )(3) A visit to the magnificent and world famous Shwe Dagon Pagoda, known for its religious significance and artistic beauty.(4) A welcome dinner at the Karaweik Palace Barge on the Royal Lake with great views of the Shwedagon Pagoda. Dinne ris Burmese food and experience an amazing cultural show.

DAY 2 YANGON – MANDALAY (by air) – SAGAING - AMARAPURA

     After breakfast at hotel, transfer to Yangon Airport for early morning flight to Mandalay. From Mandalay airport, we begin the days’s tour with : (1) a drive to the Sagaing Hills across the Ayeyarwaddy River Bridge and see the spectacular scenic view on approach to these pagoda-dotted hills.(2) Uminthonze pagoda and Soon OO Pon Nya Shin pagoda from where fantastic views of the pagoda –studded Sagaing Hills and the Ayeyawaddy River are seen.(3) Ti-Lawka-Guru;Mural Paintings can be seen in this cave temple,(4) Ywa-Htaung village;to observe silver-Smith workshops. (5) On return to Mandalay side of river, we drop in to Amarapura - famous for MahaGandaryone Monastery.and observe monastic life. Walk over UPein Wooden Bridge, the longest teakwood of its type.(6) Proceed on to Maha Muni Image - a bronze Buddha image said to be cast during the lifetime of Buddha himself. It is the holiest buddhist site in Upper Myanmar : a Buddha image of great beauty and witness the reverence and worship of the local people. (Schedule and number of sites may be negotiated with tour guide for maximum convenience )

Day 3 MANDALAY – MINGUN – MANDALAY HILL

     We will spend the day in Mandalay, the last royal capital and environs . Although quite a young city and a hub of commerce it is the main centre for monastic learning for over a century now. Therefore the city and environs is a place of stupas, monks and monasteries.  On this day’s trip : (1) We go to Mandalay pier, embarking on a private boat upstream to visit Mingun, famed for its huge and incomplete Pahtodawgyi Pagoda and MingunBell; a 90 ton ringing bell and largest of its kind in the world.(2) After lunch,in the afternoon, we visit Mandalay Palace and the nearby, Shwe Nandaw Monastery - noted for its exquisite wood carvings and Kuthodaw Pagoda - known as the world biggest book.(3) We finish the day’s tour by visiting Mandalay Hill to experience a tropical sun-set with panoramic views of the city and the Ayeyarwaddy River.Accommodation: Hotel in Mandalay.Meals: Breakfast,Lunch, Dinner.

DAY 4 MANDALAY - INLE (by air)    INLE LAKE DAY 1

     We leave Mandalay by air for Heho the gateway to the highland Inle Lake, the second largest lake in Myanmar, located 900m above sea level and home to the unique leg- rowing Intha people.

The day’s tour includes :(1) A boat excursion on InleLake, a delight to all with a camera ,its calm waters dotted with floating vegetation on   floating Islands and small fishing boats,to which scenic high hills provide the perfect back-drop. See the “Intha” (Lake- dwelling people) also known as the unique “Leg-Rowers” who use one leg to stand on the boat while the other leg is wrapped around an oar and rows.(2) You will continue on to Nga Phe Chaung; also known as the Jumping Cats Monastery which is one of the oldest monasteries on the lake with ancient Buddha Statues dated over 200 years and amazing cats trained by the Buddhist monks.(3) Visit Phaung Daw OoPagoda,the holiest religious site in Southern Shan State which has five small Buddha Statues so  heavily gilded with gold that the original buddha images are unrecognizable.(4) Observe the Lake Inle cottage industry workshops such as silk & lotus fabric weaving with wooden handlooms at  “Nan-Pam”Village, and traditional ‘mild-cigar –making’ (cheroot )Factory at “Se’ Kaung Village”Accommodation: Hotel in Inle Lake Meals: Lunch, Breakfast, Dinner.

Day 5 INLE LAKE BOAT EXCURSION DAY 2

     This day’s tour includes :(1)  A morning visit to a colourful local market which is held every five days in various village locations around the lake. This is definitely a fascinating experience where you will see local tribes in their traditional clothing and exotic market atmosphere.(2) After lunch, the boat-tour will take you to beautiful temples of Indein, located on a hill overlooking the lake.      Today, we fly to Bagan, Myanmar’s premier archeological site where over 2,000 ancient temples are located in a small area beside the Ayeyarwaddy River. The day’s tour includes : (1) A trip to the bustling Nyaung U Market in Old Bagan(2) Explore the beautiful, gold-leaf covered Shwezigon pagoda and learn about the Burmese Buddhist traditions. (3) We continue our tour with a visit to the towering Ananda temple, stopping along the way onthe Bagan plain to  admire some of the surrounding temples.(4) In the afternoon, take a tour of a local lacquer ware workshop and learn about this traditional craft.

DAY 7   BAGAN DAY 2

     For this day’s tour :(1) We start with a horse cart ride to one of the biggest temples in Bagan,the Nan Paya pagoda and other interesting sites nearby, (2) We continue on sightseeing at the Myinkaba Gubyaukyi Temple, and MyaZedi pagoda before heading to Manuha Temple.

(3) We will enjoy panoramic sunset experience from the second highest pagoda of Bagan the Shwe Sandaw pagoda. Acommodation: Hotel in BaganMeals: Breakfast,Lunch, Dinner.

DAY 8   BAGAN – MT.POPA

     For this day’s tour :(1) We leave the Bagan temples for a while and take a short drive to Mt Popa. We join local pilgrims on a winding staircase ascent of the Mt Popa and see the Nat Shrines that line the walk along with the monkeys that live on the mountain. (2) On the way back to Bagan, we will experience the traditional toddy palm sugar, and peanut oil production.(3) We then return to Bagan for a short cruise along the Irrawaddy River at sunset.

DAY 9 BAGAN – YANGON (by air)

     We leave Bagan for Yangon on an early morning flight and spend a full day exploring Yangon including :

(2) In the afternoon, you are transferred to Yangon International Airport for your departure flight.
