YUNASKO CUTTING-EDGE ULTRACAPACITOR EMPOWERS ENERGY STORAGE MARKETS

COMPANY BACKGROUND AND DOMAINCOMPANY MANUFACTURING PRODUCT TECHNOLOGY

▶ Founded in 2010, in energy storage projects since 1989

▶ 51 people, 21 of them in R&D, 7 PhD: researchers & engineers

▶ Kiev: R&D, Design Bureau and Pilot Plant

▶ London: financial and IP harbor

▶ Seed and Round A investor: Dekarta Capital

▶ Pilot plant in the West of Ukraine

▶ Latvia: our future Europe footprint, 2,300 sq.m.

▶ License partner in China with the capacity of 4 million large cells / year

▶ Heavy duty supercapacitor cells from 400F to 3,000F

▶ 16V, 48V, 112V stack and module building blocks

▶ Lithium capacitors with high power (5 kW/kg) and energy (40 Wh/kg) at 95% efficiency

▶ Carbon / carbon supercapacitor with the proprietary design, organic electrolyte

▶ 3-5 times power more than competitors

▶ Parallel lithium capacitors //LiC

▶ 3 patents granted and 12 patent applications filed

▶ Only commercial available, cheap raw materials

ENERGY STORAGE AND HARVESTING

▶ No renewables possible without storage

▶ No smart grids possible without storage

▶ No CO2 emission reduction possible without hybridizing ICE

▶ No emergency applications (valves, dampers) possible without reliable source of energy

BATTERIES CHALLENGES

▶ Low charge / discharge rate (not quick enough for frequency regulation in the grids)

▶ Safety concerns (fire hazard, Boeing Dreamliner)

▶ Short lifetime (expensive to change)

▶ Low and high temperatures intolerance

▶ Low efficiency (heat generation requires expensive thermal management systems)

BATTERY VS ULTRACAPACITOR

Ultracapacitors are all about power, unlimited cycling, safety and predictable life. This is überreliable short term energy storage.

ULTRACAPACITOR COST SUPREMACY

TECHNOLOGYCOST,

$ / kWhCYCLE LIFE

COST,$ / kWh / cycle

Lead Acid $100 500 $0.2

NiMH $1,200 3,000 $0.4

Li-ion $500 7,000 $0.07

Ultracapacitor $6,000 1,000,000 $0.006

Ultracapacitors are at least 10 times less expensive than batteries for high cycling application.
