1. Go to the developer portal http://developer.windowsmobile.com . Check your status (under ACCOUNT OVERVIEW on the left side of the page), if it’s not yet active you will be able to enter your application information but you won’t be able to submit the application for certification until your account is active.

2. Click on MY PRODUCTS 3. Click on ADD PRODUCT

3. Select either Add Application or Add Widget

Depending on whether you are submitting a widget or an application select either:

•Add Application or,

•Add Widget

4. Enter general Information about your application and select

Enter the following information about your application/ widget: •Product Name – This is the application name that will be listed in the catalog•Operating System – Select either 6.x (includes 6.0, 6.1 and 6.5) or 6.5•Platform – Select Pocket PC (touch screen) or Smartphone (non-touch screen)•Version – Enter version number, example for version 2.1 enter a 2 in the first box and a 1 in the second box•Market – Select the market (combination of country + language) where you would like the app distributed•Submission Method – Leave this field as “web”

5. Enter Product Description and Product Feature information and click

Enter the following information in the registration form:

A.Product Description – This text will be used to describe your product in the Windows Marketplace catalog. • On device description – Enter the description of your product

you would like to appear on the phone (maximum of 500 characters)

• Web catalog description – Enter the description of your product you would like to appear on the web site (maximum of 2,000 characters)

B.Product Features – These items will be used to display a bulleted list of features of your application within Windows Marketplace. Features will be displayed in the order provided.

6. Enter PRODUCT INFORMATION and click

Upload your application and provide the following product information:

A.Product Binary• Application Binary – Upload your application. It must be

a CAB file under 10MB in size.

• Release Notes – These are used for tracking release notes for the application being submitted. These will not appear in the Windows Marketplace catalog.

B.Support Information – This information will be used to help customers contact you for support. It will appear in the support section for your application in the Windows Marketplace catalog. •Support Email – A support email is required•Support URL•Support Phone Number

C.Legal URL

If you have a privacy policy, additional end user license terms, or terms of use for your application please enter the URL in the space provided.

D. Digital Signature Requirements – The product binary that you uploaded will require digital code signing. Indicate whether the product requires normal mode or privileged mode signing. Products requiring privileged mode signing will require additional time to complete certification.

7. Enter PRODUCT ARTWORK and click

Upload application icons and screen shots that you would like to appear in the display of your application in the on-device and web-based Windows Marketplace catalog.

A.Icons•Mobile catalog icon small – icon size 36 x 36 @ 96 dpi•Mobile catalog icon large – icon size 60 x 60 @ 192 dpi•Web site icon small – icon size 45 x 45 @ 96 dpi•Web site icon large – icon size 64 x 64 @ 96 dpi

Please note: Submitting the right size icons is a requirement to pass certification. Please make sure that the icons submitted meet the requirements before submitting your application for certification.

8. Review REQUIREMENTS and update as needed and click

Update the requirements as needed:

A.Managed Code Requirements - If your application requires .NET Compact Framework please specify the version required. The application submission criteria specifies that application binaries should not contain redistributable components of the .NET CF. Please refer to the criteria for more information.

B.Device Requirements – Check all device attributes that your product requires. Users with devices that do not meet these requirements will not be able to download your application.

C.Screen Resolutions – Uncheck any resolutions that are not supported by your application.

Please make sure that your application does indeed support all the checked screen resolutions before submitting for certification. If this is not the case, it will fail certification and will have to be submitted again.

Note: Please be aware that adjusting the default requirements may limit availability of your application.

9. Enter Catalog Information, choose a price for your application and click

Enter the following information:

A.Catalog Information – All applications are required to be associated with a single category and subcategory when available. Select a category and subcategory from the list.• Category - Category options include

• Subcategory – Select a subcategory if subcategories are available

B.Payment Information – Choose a price for your product from the list of available Mobile Operator price points below. The prices in each market are calculated based on your selection.

The number of Mobile Operator price points is limited but ensures that your application will be available for purchase via mobile operator billing (with participating operators). If you wish to select a different price point select "choose your own price". In this case, users will only be able to pay for your application using a credit card.

10. Make sure that your application meets all the submission guidelines, and click to submit it for certification

A.Here you will be able to see you available balance of certification events, before confirming your submission.

When your application has been submitted successfully you will see this screen, which includes the following message:

To submit your product for certification, your account will be debited for one of the certification events you received during registration. A complete test pass of your product will be conducted using the Application Submission Criteria as the basis for the testing. Additionally, a digital signature will be applied using the preferences selected during the product submission process. To continue and have your product submitted for certification click the next button below. For additional information about the Application Submission Criteria, consult the documents listed.

If your account has not been activated and you try to submit an application you will receive the below message

If you could not submit your app because your account is not active, you will receive this message:

We’re sorry. You cannot submit this product for certification. Your account has not been activated. Once your account is activated, you will be able to submit this product for certification. You can review the detailed status of your account on the dashboard

Note: If you receive this message, the application will be in “ready for certification” status on the developer portal dashboard and you can submit it once your account is active.

If your application fails testing you can view the test report by clicking View test results

When you click View test results you will see a pdf of the test report.

If your submission was unable to be published you will receive the following email notification.

When the status of your submission changes, you will receive the following email notification.

11. Review the status of your applications by going to the DASHBOARD

A. Requires Attention: List of applications that require you to take action

1. When you have started to enter information for your application but quit and saved without submitting it, the status will be Submission Created.

2. When your application has been entered but not submitted the status will be Ready for Certification

3. If your application fails testing the status will be Certification Failed.

B. Pending: All apps in this section are pending

C. Recently Published: These are all of your recently published applications
