The World Wide Web— The Web—is a network of computers able to exchange text, graphics, and multimedia information via the Internet.The Internet- Is a global interconnection of computers

ABOUT THE INTERNET The Internet has revolutionized computers

and communications like nothing before Has world-wide broadcasting capability A mechanism for information dissemination A medium for collaboration and interaction

HISTORY The Internet, then known as ARPANET, was

brought online in 1969 under a contract led by the renamed Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA) which initially connected four major computers at universities in the southwestern US (UCLA, Stanford Research Institute, UCSB, and the University of Utah)

HISTORY J.C.R. Licklider of MIT, first proposed a global

network of computers in 1962 Moved over to the Defense Advanced

Research Projects Agency (DARPA) in late 1962 to head the work to develop it

WHAT IS CMS CMS – Content Management System, is a
