Keynote Speaker – Gail Roper

Gail Roper is the Chief Information and Community Relations Officer at the Cityof Raleigh. Ms. Roper has experience as an IT executive, a CIO, and a C-leveladministrator. Previous to her service in Raleigh, Ms. Roper has held positions in thecities of Kansas City, MO and Austin, TX. Ms. Roper is a proponent of the OpenSource and Open Data movements and regularly speaks to a national audience –recently at the Code for America Summit 2013.

Ms. Roper is the Founder of the Raleigh Digital Connectors, a youth program thatidentifies talented young people ages 14-21 to become Digital Connectors andreceive intensive training in technology and the benefits of volunteerism.
