CONGRATULATIONS HAMPTON PUBLIC SCHOOL TRIANGLE SPORT WINNERS Congratulations to all our students, Parents and Staff who helped make Triangle Sports Day 2013 a successful event. A lot of work went into the organisation of the canteen and I thank all involved in providing the food for the day. Thankyou also to all the Parents who helped supervise the groups - you did a fantastic job. Thankyou also to everyone who got the children to the event. Well done all round!!! Triangle Sports day is a lovely event where three small schools combine to give all children the opportunity to participate in an Athletics carnival with others in a spirit of friendship and positive sportsmanship. I was very proud of our collaborative management of the day . Have a wonderful holiday Kind Regards Moira Principal of the BEST small school in Australia. Staff Development Days STUDENTS RETURN TO SCHOOL WEDNESDAY MAY 1ST Staff will be combining with the Western Gateway Schools on Monday 29th of April and With Bathurst Small schools on Tuesday 30th of April. There will be no Teachers at school on either of these days. The second day is an additional staff development day given to teachers in preparation for the new English curriculum. This curriculum will be implemented in 2014. These two days will be full of learning experiences for our teachers and I hope you are able to enjoy two extra days with your children. ANZAC DAY Thursday 25th of April
The teachers will be meeting all students who wish to march
WHERE—on the corner of Eskbank St and Mort St
WHEN at10:20am the march starts at 10:30
Wear—Full school uniform
It would be wonderful to have a large number of students marching.
If anyone would like to make the wreath for either the Lowther or Lithgow ceremonies please come into the school as we have two foam structures ready to go!!
GROUNDS WORK Over the holidays we will be having some grounds work done. This will minimize any disruptions to the students learning. The front garden area near the entrance will be dug up in preparation for planting. The soft-fall under our play equipment will be turned over. The two vegetable gardens will be moved to our planned new kitchen garden area and the brick structure will be removed in preparation for a refurbishment of the back playgrounds grass area. It is exciting to see the implementation of long term plans coming into fruition.
Lithgow High School 50th Anniversary I was privileged to represent Hampton Public School at the celebrations of the Lithgow High School 50th Anniversary at Pau St on Saturday. I was very impressed with the calibre of students who hosted the day and enjoyed the outstanding exhibitions of work. We have many past Hampton students currently attending Lithgow High and it was a pleasure to be able to see first hand the strong commitment Lithgow High School has to our local students.
SOLAR SCHOOLS Solar Schools will be installed on the first two days of Term 2 with minimal disruption to student’s learning activities.
Term One It has been a very busy and successful term. We welcomed seven new Kindergarten students who have settled into school life with aplomb! Some of the highlights of the term include: Bathurst Small Schools Swimming Carnival, and Cross Country and Gala Day Best Start by New Kinders Robotics Training at the Charles Sturt University Clean up Hampton Day Grandparents Day Bilby Virtual Excursion iExtend Preparations Triangle Sports Fundamental Movement Skills Training Slime Day Virtual Excursion I congratulate all students for their commitment to learning and thank all staff for their ongoing care of our children, their professionalism and the passion they hold for pursuing excellence at Hampton.

Slime Day 2013 Virtual Excursion.
Tomorrow all students will participate in a fun educational virtual excursion with Fizzics Education. In this hands-on interactive experience, students will explore the properties of four slimes as well as having the opportunity to make three of them using everyday items found in your local supermarket. This will be lots
of fun!
