How are you doing these days? Somehow I just realized that I haven’t introduced Samsung camcorders for a while, so today I want to introduce the F70. I hope you enjoy reading this post. Samsung is back with its latest SD camcorder, the F70, the NX200, and the MV800 launched in early September at IFA2011 in Berlin, Germany. This camcorder features a 2.7” LCD display, Smear-free video, 60 Progressive Recording, 52x optical zoom/65x intelli-zoom, HD Recording, New CMOS sensor, Smart Background Music, Record Pause, Smart Auto, and Hyper DIS (Dual Image Stabilization). I think you are familiar with some of the functions, if not all of them. Let’s go over it together! This is the Samsung F70. Take a look at its stylish design. There are two colors available: black and silver.

1. CMOS sensor

The new CMOS sensor makes true and rich colors. The sensor uses a red, green, and blue primary color filter and it separates lights to each colors element. Therefore, you can reproduce rich, accurate, and natural colors with the F70 as the one in the image.

You can also take a picture without smearing even when you are facing bright objects such as a spotlight or candlelight by the technology.

2. 52x Optical zoom/ 65x intelli-zoom

As you may know, a powerful optical zoom lens is a critical feature in the market these days. To provide better quality to the users, the F70 features 52x Optical Zoom/ 65x intelli-zoom lens that every image is as clear and crisp as the user remembers them. Furthermore, Samsung added additional pixels from the image sensor to the existing optical zoom so that every detail can be picked up even when focusing on a distant background scene.

3. Smart Auto

Now you don’t have to worry when you record whether it’s at night, indoors, outdoors, etc. The F70’s intelligent Smart Auto feature automatically selects the best shooting mode to capture video and even detects the face with seven pre-set modes such as Night, Night Portrait, Portrait, White, Indoor, Macro, and Landscape.

4. Hyper DIS (Dual Image Stabilization)

As you see the images above, unstable hands can cause camcorder footage to be shaky and blurred. Now, use the F70’s Hyper DIS mode and record clean and steady footage.

5. 60 Progressive Recording

Do you know the differences between Interlaced and Progressive recording? Interlaced recording has served the analog camera, television, and VHS video world very well for many years, and is still the suitable for certain applications. The slight delay between odd and even line refreshes creates some distortion as you see from the image.

However, Progressive Recording differs from Interlaced because it captures the images lines in a numerical order down the screen from the top to the bottom so it can produce a smoother, more detailed image. 6. Have fun with other unique functions of the F70

What makes the Samsung SMX-F70 more interesting is that the camcorder features some other unique functions to play with for fun! Users can create their own videos by inserting background music and are able to pause and restart the recording without gaps and without creating a new file.

Smart BGM

The F70 has a variety of prerecorded background music and you can overlay them to movies you’ve already recorded. You can enjoy your videos with background music as a movie!

Record Pause

The reality is that you can’t handle both a camera and a camcorder, but sometimes you want to take a picture during recording without stopping it. With the Record Pause feature on the F70, you can pause the recording and then pick up right where you left off without creating a new file. When you go to sports events, concerts, recitals, or any other events, bring the F70 with you!
