““What have you learnt about What have you learnt about technologies from the process technologies from the process constructing this product?”constructing this product?”

““BRAINSTORMING”BRAINSTORMING”

I knew that when I first started brainstorming for my print production I wanted to use digital and electronic software to its full advantage in order to produce a professional and well established looking product.

Whilst putting together and editing from start to finish I have learnt an abundance of knowledge. I was well aware of the editing process and what it consisted of beforehand yet due to so many possibilities within the software have not stopped gaining know how.

““OUTCOMES”OUTCOMES”

I assumed that no matter how much effort was put into the process, it still would not be possible to hit the nail on the head and have an outcome up to the standard of any well known magazine let alone those within its sub genre existing and in relation to mine. Therefore, I have been surprised and impressed by the results, they do not come quickly nor easily but with devotion and time enforced productively in using such technology evidently I think that this new equipment does mean that even ‘amateurs’ can produce material that is reasonably if not full certified looking.

““TECHNOLOGY”TECHNOLOGY” The software I used for the most of my project was that of well equipped cameras,

Photoshop, Microsoft Word and Quark Express. These four main aspects worked well alongside each other. With the camera capturing the photography elements, Photoshop editing them and Microsoft Word for breaking down and writing the bulk text I could then bring them all together in Quark Express to edit and develop further using the same tool as the recognized existing magazines do today.

Modernisation has meant that phases such as runarounds, cropping and modifying once gotten the hand of can be done quickly leaving more time for tweaking and improving quality to its utmost.

““BLOGGING”BLOGGING”

By having the opportunity to blog my process it has helped in enabling me to keep track of everything without the need for gathering resources to recap. I could simply log on the blogspot.com to refresh where my product is at and what needed to be done next. Uploading images, print screens and annotations has kept a clear an coherent presentation of research and planning for both myself and my teacher.

““MEDIA 2.0”MEDIA 2.0”

I did not use Media 2.0 elements e.g. YouTube seeing as I went down the print rather than video route so felt no need to but for research and planning however, ensure that I made the most of the internet for the outlooks of relating to existing magazines and putting together ideas e.g. choosing a genre, fonts, themes for texts and front cover subject for judgement.
