Photography

When I created my magazine I had to consider the photography of real life magazines and make sure my photography followed the same convents as that of a real life magazine, through that I did many trials of my photograph with different models to make sure I chose the right picture for my magazine. I had to have the model looking at the camera and also to make my magazine look professional I used a number of different types of shots such as long shots, close-ups and medium close ups

Lighting

When creating my magazine on photoshop I had to edit out the backdrop so therefore I made sure that all my pictures had bright lighting so the pictures follow a convention of a real life magazine. I did this by taking the photos on a white background with high-key lighting (bright lighting) shining on my model. This also emphasizes my model against the background making her stand out against and therefore she would stand out on the magazine.

Photoshop allowed me to create the magazine the way I wanted to as I was able to edit and airbrush the text on my magazine as well as the pictures.

I learnt many new effect throughout using photo-shop such as: how to cut round a picture, how to use puffs, how to add to a picture to make it look more realistic, how to change the font style and direction the font is moving.

I used many effects on the images on my blog to really make them stand off the page and stand out to the reader including, shadowing and air brushing.

I also had to learn to cut a picture out of its background on Photoshop, this proved to be hard, as I had to pay attention to the detail of my model e.g.: extra strands of hair and had to make sure the fact I cut the picture out wasn’t noticeable.
