What is educational technology?

Refers to the use of technology in order to find information.

refers to the field which is the study of technology on how, when and what is the use of technology in our daily life.

refers to the use of technology in different ways of task.

Technology: Boon or Bane?

Technology can be both Boon or Bane, because it defends to the person using the technology.

We can say that the technology is Boon if it give us a good result in terms of studying, doing something valuable and helping our task get easier;

It also be considered implementation of appropriate tools to enhance teaching.

We can say that the Technology is Bane if it give us a bad result and depending on it so much that we become a lazy person.

One bad effect of the technology is that could ruin others life if not use correctly like cyber bullying and visiting in inappropriate sites.

And also over using of technology can make people addicted to the games and other non educational apps.

Systematic approach to teaching:

“ A plan that emphasizes the parts may pay the cost of failing to consider the parts”

-C. West Churchman The focus of this approach is the student.

The instruction begins with the definition of instructional objectives that consider the students needs, interest and readiness.

And this approach will help the students learn easily and gain a lot of information in terms of learning.

The Roles of Educational Technology in learning

Educational Technology plays a various roles

From the traditional point of view, serves as presenter of knowledge just lie teachers. It also serve productivity tool. With the internet, technology has facilitated communication among people.

From the constructivist perspective, educational technology is a meaningful learning tools by serving as a learning partner.

Roles of Technology in Education

Creating a curriculum that appreciates the power of technology can serve to increase engagement in the classroom and make learning easier and more efficient.

Methods used within the classroom not only to keep revolving, but also harness the effects of the digital revolution in a positive and constructivist manner.

Cone of experience

On Dale’s cone of experience is a visual model that is composed of eleven stages starting from concrete experiences at the bottom of the cone then it becomes more and more abstract as it reach the peak of the cone. Also according to Dale, the arrangement of the cone is not base on its difficulty but rather based on abstraction and on the number of senses involved.

Conceptual model of learning

Conceptual model of learning is a representation of a system, made of the composition of concepts which are used to help people know, understand, or simulate a subject the model represents.

The term conceptual model may be used to refer to models which are formed after a conceptualization or generalization.

Learning through Educational Technology 2

Learning through Educational Technology 2 we have realize the importance of technology for us not only as a student but also as a future educator.

In this subject we learned the use of social networking sites that we didn’t use before.

Reflection:

Rona BersabalIn Educational Technology 2, I become aware

of the different use of computer software and social networking sites including email, link-in, power point and media. As a future teacher I am thankful for this chance to become an effective teacher someday through the use technology not only to help and improve my teaching but also for the student better learning in school.

Through this subject I explore a different use of computer soft ware and social networking sites including email, link-in, Facebook, instagram, tweeter. Aside from that, I also learn that technology have a good side and bad side effect to the user. In the future, this Ed. Tech.2 is very useful to us, as a future teacher someday.
