Gold Finger Repair

Gold fingers are prone to damage as they are on the peripheryof the circuit board and they are also prone to solder splashduring the wave soldering process. When edge contacts arecontaminated with solder, get scratched, torn or damaged,BEST repair technicians can bring them back intospecification. These contacts can either be replaced orrepaired.

BGA Pad Repair

If BGA pads have been damaged due to improper part removaltechniques, during Reballing or mechanical "digging" into thecircuit board, then BEST can repair these damaged circuitpatterns to as a "good as new" condition.

BEST technicians use a variety of different IPC repairtechniques along with the "tricks of the trade" they havelearned over many years. This wil enable them to accomplish ahigh quality repair where only a trained eye could discern thata repair had been performed.

Broken Corner Repair

Corners are many times damaged by poor handling

procedures. When the corner of the PCB delaminates,

blisters, measles or is otherwise damaged, BEST

technicians can repair these defects. When this happens

to critical prototype, development or high value boards

such as servers, BEST repair technicians can repair the

laminate so that it is returned to an "as new" condition.

Repair

Through-holes or vias are damaged in either handling of theboards or through the improper removal of a through-holedevice. Eyelets are used by BEST technicians to repair theseplated through-hole connections in order to repair PCBdamage. After preparing the surface, we will install a neweyelet and mechanically swage it into place. Plated through-holes which are damaged on multi-layer boards can also berepaired to look "as good as new".

Edge Repair

Corners and edges are often damaged by poor handlingprocedures. When the base laminate delaminates, blisters,measles, or is routed improperly. Whether it is a minor ormajor repair, BEST technicians use a high strength, thermosetepoxy, along with the skill set to make sharp corners afterrebuilding or consistent edges to bring the laminate surfaceback into specification.

Mask Repair

BEST technicians can add, remove or replace mask and coating materials. This repair may be part of other mechanical PCB board damage that has occurred, poor quality from the board shop, or it may be due to a component that has seen excessive heat.

On BGA patterns where mask has been removed between the pad and the via, BEST technicians can touch up the mask so solder will not flow down the dogbone and starve the solder joint.
