Features I have learnt

From analysing many other top music magazines I have learnt that there are many conventions you must follow to achieve an appeal to its target audience.

I learnt that an appeal comes from differation. So for example I plan to make my magazine different, by using ‘raw’ Art work that I produce in order to create a unique magazine result.

Also from studying other magazine fonts I realised that many top successful magazines were using large bold fonts with indipendent styles. I plan to use a bold unique font for my masthead to dominate the attraction on my front cover.

Research into Covers and Contents

In the process of producing my magazine I have chosen to use a Bold font to make my magazine title stand out. For example like the Bold font that NME uses.

When making my contents page I am going to

produce a very simple list like way of

representing content information throughout

the magazine.

I plan to use again a very natural looking peice of art work as a backdrop for my contents

Research Into Double Page Spread Through studying many music magazines i have learnt

that I could follow the convention of having full pages dedicated to just one particular Artist/Band.

Also in the photographic sector of double spead pages I have discovered that the use of photo editing programs would be wise to use to give the consumers a sereal feel when viewing images in my magazine.

The style of the double page spread is key to how the consumer will interpritate the pages and also how the band/artist is represented. In my magazine I hope to define the style of the page and featured band by the use of interesting art work and use of photographic/hand drawn imagery.

Audience research results

From my audience research I discovered that what is expected is a rather evenly distributed as ‘Band News, Album Reviews, New Releases and Interviews’.

Also when researching I found that allthough the world of downloading is now available, people are still purchasing CD’s.

But on the otherhand when questioning the public about streaming music online, many people replied with the facts of streaming and resulted in many of the public being consumers of Spotify.
