LYSOSOMES• Hold enzymes created by the cell.• Digest things.• Specialized vesicle that holds a

variety of enzymes.

MITOCHONDRIA• Powerhouse of the cell.• Act like a digestive system,

takes in nutrients, breaks them down, and creates energy for the cell.

• Very small.• Most of the chemical

reactions involved in cellular respiration happen in the mitochondria.

GOLGI BODIES• Prepare and store chemical

products produced in the cell.

Endoplasmic Reticulum• Packaging system.• Works with the Golgi Apparatus, ribosome,

RNA, mRNA, tRNA• Creates a network of membranes found

through the cell.

RIBOSOMES• Protein builders.• Connect one amino acid at a time

and build long chains.

NUCLEUS•Brain of the cell.•DNA holds the genetic

code.

CHLOROPLASTS• GREEN.• Food producers of the cell.• Only found in plant cells.
