Theory Of Spontaneous Generation or AbiogenesisThis is an incorrect theory that was believed for

many centuries. It stated that living things come from nonliving

things.Aristotle said that it explained how life got here. A variety of experiments were performed to

disprove it. Redi proved that maggots come from flies, not meat.http://www.slic2.wsu.edu:82/hurlbert/micro101/images/maggots.gif

BiogenesisAfter many years it was concluded that life comes from life.

Pasteur’s experiment helped to disprove spontaneous generation. facstaff.gpc.edu/.../Microbial%20World.htm

Oparin’s Organic ( Primordial)Soup TheoryHe believed that Earth’s early atmosphere

had the chemical elements necessary to create organic compounds. These elements combined due to static electricity and sunlight and made the first organic compounds. He hypothesized that these organic compounds were the building blocks of the first life forms.

His theory was tested out by Stanley Miller in a lab where he was capable of creating amino acids.
