TECHNOLOGY POSSIBILITIES

It is important to discover the technology available to me to ensure I can adapt my magazine around these so I am able to create a product of a professional standard.

For taking photographs for my magazine I can use the Panasonic Lumix G10 camera. This is my own camera meaning I will be able to take photos on numerous occasions. This gives me the freedom to adapt, re-take and improve my photographs as many times as I want. The camera also comes with a USB and a moveable memory card so they photos can be easily moved on to a computer.

EDITING SOFTWARE

Pixrl – Pixrl is a free online editing website which includes all features such as cropping, adjusting, flipping with are vital to ensure my photos look professional. It also have options such as layering, this allows me to place images on top of another. It gives a wide selection of filters which can be effective when I am trying to achieve a certain look.

PicMonkey – PicMonkey is a similar online website which offers editing features. It has more developed features such as “removing blemishes” and adding a “spray tan”. The downside to PicMonkey is that you get adverts appearing while your editing unless you upgrade. This may prove a problem when you are editing for a long time.

Mircosoft Publisher – This would not be advanced enough to be used for editing images but make be used to bringing the formula of the magazine together. It allows images to layer on top of each other and also deletes out white background of images to make them blend. It’s a great and easy way to bring pictures and contents together.

It is key to have advance editing software to ensure my photos look of a professional standard. Therefore much research into what certain software's and websites offer.

FONTS

Font Deck – This is an online font generator which offers a range of fonts. It offers a deal for up to 20 visits for free. This gives me the chance to change fonts and try out different ones to ensure I have the best ones possible. There is a huge number of fonts and it easy and quick to already find one 60’s style font that may be suitable. (As seen in image)

My fonts – Another website which offers a wide range of fonts. It doesn’t indicate a sign up free, therefore I will be able to experiment and download a range of fonts.
