Some years ago, the Mosley family planted two trees - a beech tree that was 12 feet tall and grew at a rate of ½ ft/yr and a maple tree that was 4 feet tall and grew at a rate of 1 ft/yr. Today, the maple is taller than the beech. Recently, Mr. Mosley found an old photograph that showed the beech tree was taller than the maple. He wondered when the photo was taken.
