Chapter 6: An Underground Water – World

When Axel woke up he heard the sound of the sea and he had a bandage on his head . He tried to speak but it was difficult for him. His uncle was excited because they found as underground sea. There were trees and the bones of animals which lived thousand of years ago. Axel couldn’t move for two days. So he had to rest while Hans was building a boat for them to sail in.They were inside something like a giant cave which its top few miles high and with clouds because of the water. While Axel was walking on the beach he saw shells from a time before man walked on the earth and bones of something which looked like a huge elephant. Then he asked himself if there were any animals alive down there.

When the boat was ready they left the beach and strong wind pushed them quickly to the sea. Hans tied the pickaxe to the rope and threw it into the water which was very deep.

When Hans pulled the pickaxe back into the boat there were large marks of teeth on it. They were astonished and scared

They went on sailing. First they left Iceland, then they travelled under the Atlantic ocean and at that moment they were under Scotland and going further down

They could see something coming nearer and nearer at a high speed. It was an alligator of over one hundred feet long. Then, they saw a huge snake with a shell on its back like a turtle's.

The animals didn’t care about them because they fought each other. The fight was terrible the snake was hissing and the dolphin screaming. Suddenly both animals disappeared under the water and after a few minutes the snake’s head came out of the water and it hissed one more time before it died in the water

Chapter 7: A terrible Storm

The journey felt even more dangerous but the professor wanted to go to the centre of the earth so they travelled for hours but they didn't see land. Then, they heard a sound but they didn't see what was it. They thought that it was an animal but it was an island like a small volcano shouting water instead of lava. So axel checked the temperature of the water but it was too hot. Then, the electric light began to make explosions around them. It was an electrical storm… Hans tried to keep out the boat but the wind was blowing very strong. Suddenly, the ball of electricity exploded while Hans was protecting the professor and Axel

The storm stopped. The professor thought that they were under Europe but the wind took them back to the place they started.

Chapter 8: A Lost World They were on the north side again but not on the

same beach. They began to look around to find things. The beach was longer than the other one. Its rocks had more holes. There were skeletons of animals, bones and a head of a man. Then, they walked in the beach but it changed. There were large trees and behind the trees was a family of mammoths. And next to them was a tall man with long hair. He had a piece of animal skin instead of clothes.

Then, they found a knife on a rock and they cleaned it. It was Arne’s knife. Next to the rock there was an entrance of a cave and there were two Iceland letters: A.S.

The professor was very excited because it could be the entrance they were looking for.

Chapter 9- The Last Tunnel

Hans brought the boat to the end of the beach where the cave was and they took their bags to the cave.

They walked about ten feet inside it and they saw a huge rock blocking the tunnel so they wished they had an earthquake like the one that AS had long time ago to move the rock from the entrance.

They decided to use gunpowder to move it so Hans made a hole in the rock with his pickaxe and put the gunpowder inside and the, they hide to protect themselves .

Then they got into the boat and moved out to the sea and suddenly the rocks opened, the earth shook and everything fell into a huge hall. The final explosion made the sea rise in a huge wave which pushed them back to the sea.

The water was hot and the temperature was high. The walls had the red colour of lava because they were under another volcano which was going to explode. Suddenly they were flying into the air.

Chapter 10 – Back Home• The volcano threw them into the sea and Hans saved them

again with his amazing strength. When they saw around there were boats in the water and olive and fruit trees on the land. Behind them there was the volcano. Then, they saw a little boy who was afraid of them because they looked horrible. The professor spoke to him in German, French and English but he didn’t understand.

• Finally, he spoke in Italian. They were surprised because they were in Stromboli, Italy. It meant that they went in one volcano in Iceland and came out of another in Italy.

* The Professor was sad because we didn’t get to the centre of the Earth, but when he got back to Germany, he felt better
