A computer is made up of two components:

Hardware: Tangible parts of the computer.

•Input Devices:- These are the devices through which we can enter our information or data to the computer system.

•Output Devices:- These are the devices through which we can get our result from the computer system.

•Storage Devices:- A device capable of storing data. The term usually refers to mass storage devices, such as disk and tape drives.

Hardware is further made up of four parts:

Types of Software:

Systems software:- Includes the operating system and all the utilities that enable the computer to function.

Applications software:- Includes programs that do real work for user. For example, word processor, spreadsheet and database management system ms fall under the category of applications software.
