Once you download the free Jing software at www.jingproject.com, you can open the software. Jing opens at the top of your screen as a little yellow bubble/sun. The first bubble is to capture. The second shows your history. The third is “more” to find help and log off the software.
After you click “capture”, you’ll select the area you’d like to capture.
Then you’ll select to capture an image, video, return, or cancel.
If you click video, you’ll get a 3 second count down and the software will tell you if your mic is on or on mute. You can use the nav in the upper left to stop, pause, mute/unmute mic, redo, or cancel. Your video has a 5 minute limit.
After you capture the video, you will be asked to save: to screencast.com (free 2 GB storage), the Jing folder on your computer, other place on your computer, or to cancel. You can see that each step only has a few buttons to choose from –it’s easy!
If you ever need to go back, you can click on the “history” bubble to see what you’ve created. Click the eye to change how you want to save the presentation.
