Semantics UX contest

A next generation semantic content editor

Loïc SchüléLiip AG, [email protected]@lschule on Twitter

a proposal for the

Who we are

• Agile Web Development

• Sustainability as core value, socially and environmentally.

• Open Source Software consumer and producer (43 github Public Repos )

2

CMS / Framework dilemma

• Custom code inside a CMS codebase: No framework to help you.

• Cheap CMS on top of a good framework

• Combine a framework with a CMS: needs hacks in the CMS to integrate custom features.

3

3 options:

“We must find a better way!”

The Symfony CMF

• Content Management added to a popular general purpose Framework

• Collaboration all around the world

• available as open source with the MIT license

• Key aspects: scalability, usability, documentation and testing

4

The CMF Editor

• Semantic editor based on HTML5, JS, RDFa and VIE

• With focus on the User Interface

• Already available under MIT license

5

“I’m here to extend the editor with automatic semantic data handling”

What we will do

• Image suggestions

• Semantic image search

• Image auto tagging at upload

• Extend the image concept to other media (videos, galleries ...)

6

Asset management bundle

• Automatic related article detection (navigation)

• Assistance with content Semantic Tagging

• Enrich content with external information

7

Automatic Content Relationship

What we will do

• Local storage will be used

• Multi-users conflicts management

• The work is saved in case of network failure

8

Improve the saving mechanism to keep the users HAPPY :-)

What we will do

Thanks a lot
