In today’s Poetto there are many things we would like to change…

To delight our free time we usually go to the Baretti, wooden beach bars, that today are different in size, shape and colours, but for tomorrow the local authorities have decided to give them a standard aspect.

To prevent further erosion of the beach, we would like the

authorities to forbid the parking on the sand.

We would like to keep the Baretti as they are now:

colourful, comfortable, friendly and lively.

Last, but not list, until fifty years ago, a thick pine-wood shaded the coast line of Poetto beach. Unfortunately, as time past, the pines decayed and eventually died for negligence, air pollution and people’s wrong behaviour. In order to protect and preserve the

vegetation from environmental degradation we would like to replant the pinewood and increase the shadow areas

by planting palms of different types on the beach.

The pride of Poetto was its white, fine-grained sand.But the natural coast erosion, the beach nourishment and the drivers’ bad habits modified that beauty.
