Silver has long been known to treat infections, purify water and keep food fresh. As far back as 460BC the father of modern medicine, Hippocrates used silver to heal wounds and treat ulcers. In the early 1700’s Angelus Sala used silver nitrate to treat chorea and syphilis.

During the Napoleonic Wars, the armies of Tsar Alexander used water containers lined with silver to clean drinking water. It’s a common fact that in the early 1900’s, American farmers would place silver coins in milk bottles to prolong the milk’s freshness. Even in World War I, before the advent of antibiotics, silver was used to prevent and treat infection.

Evidence Based Technology

6

Page 7: Clinical case study new rev03

The simple answer is medical effort was placed on the new ‘wonder cures’ of antibiotics, but we now know that these can be ineffective when bacteria and microbes become resistant.

It’s also a case that ‘human conditioning’ in expecting a visit to the doctor will result in a prescription being filled in that creates a culture that a pill can cure anything.

It’s time to look to the history of medicine to show the way forward.

Oragiene Inside products are designed with an in-built antimicrobial technology that employs silver ions to inhibit the growth of micro organisms. This is possible through an innovative treatment process that bonds the silver compound into the Oragiene Inside material. Through co-development utilizing Swedish technology, Oragiene Inside has taken a step ahead in research and development and created practical solutions for the healthcare industry and the community. 7

For Oragiene™ technology antimicrobial mechanism of catalytic metal ions and light. Oragiene™ silver determine its chemical structure has a high catalytic ability, high oxidation state of silver reduction potential high enough to produce atomic oxygen to the surrounding space. Atomic oxygen can be sterilized with strong oxidizing. According to the determination of water containing Ag + to 0.01mg / 1, the water can completely kill E. coli, can keep for up to 90 days does not propagate a new flora.

Diabetes It is interesting to reflect that in the first edition of the IDF Diabetes Atlas, released in 2000, the estimated global diabetes prevalence was 151 million. In this newest edition, the estimated diabetes prevalence for 2010 has risen to 285 million, representing 6.6% of the world’s adult population, with a prediction that by 2030 the number of people with diabetes will have risen to 438 million. IDF DIABETES ATLAS 2011

Diabetes is basically a metabolic dysfunction which makes people suffer from high glucose levels in blood either because insulin is not being produced in the pancreas in adequate amounts or the body somehow is unable to respond effectively to the insulin being produced in the pancreatic cells. Now there are two basic types of diabetes; Type 1 and type 2 Diabetes and to really help yourself in treating the type you are diagnosed with, it is vital to have a brief comparison of type 1 Vs type 2 Diabetes.
