Introduction• We offer two closely related courses:

• BSc Management• BSc Business Studies

1 - Note that they are Bachelor of Science rather than Bachelor of Arts – the emphasis is on numeracy, reasoning and communication

2 - Note that although both cover the basics, they are quite distinctive and it is important to know the difference when writing your personal statement

3 - Getting through your school exams is the beginning of a journey, be prepared for degree study to be quite different

4 - It is important to us that you chose the right course - a discontented or unhappy student is no good for anyone - so research all your options thoroughly

BSc (Hons) similarities• Degree length – 3 to 4 years • Study options • Standard and Study Abroad (3 years)• Placement (4 years)

• Teaching methods: lectures; team exercises; class discussions; case analysis; computer workshops; business simulations; seminar presentations; team and individual project work

• 10-14 hours per week in the classroom supported by at least 20 hours reading and group assignments

• Assessment includes both individual and team based work• All students supported by a personal tutor

BSc (Hons) Business Studies structure• Core modules include the major business functions such as:• Accountancy, Economics, Management Practice and Skills, Finance,

Marketing, Human Resource Management, Operations Management and Strategy, FOCUS (Functions of Organisations)

• Specialist streams: • Finance (Accreditation from ICAEW )• Marketing (Accreditation from CIM)

• Electives include a wide range, for example:• Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice, Climate Change & Impact on

World Economy, Social Media Theory and Practice, Corporate Social Responsibility, Emerging Markets, Intellectual Property Management, Asset Management, Supply Chain & Logistics Management

Admission• We accept students from all over the world with a range of

qualifications so all specific advice should be directed to our admissions team

• In general we look for the equivalent to:• A-level: AAA• IB: 35 points

• Minimum• GCSE Maths: Grade A• GCSE English: Grade C• IELTS 6.5
