“A campus with a wealth ofopportunities” best describes Regent’sCollege. Not only is it one of the fewcolleges that has a campus in centralLondon, but its prime park locationmakes it easy for students to exploreone of the world’s most entertainingcities from dusk to dawn. London’s museums and galleries –several of them ranking amongst theworld’s finest – are full of treasurestrawled from Europe and beyond.Monuments from the capital’s moreglorious past, from medievalbanqueting halls to the great churchesof Sir Christopher Wren, standalongside modern wonders such as theTate Modern.
For entertainment, London is trulyunsurpassed. London caters for allshopping tastes, from lively markets inPortobello Road and Camden Town, toexpensive boutiques and worldrenowned department stores such asHarrods and Selfridges. There arehundreds of nightclubs, restaurants andtheatres to choose from, as well as themany London pubs which arerenowned for their character andbonhomie. Undergraduate degree programmes
The BA (Hons) degree programmesrequire three years of full-time study.Each year consists of two semesters oftwelve weeks of tuition, one week ofrevision and two weeks of final exami-nations. In your first year, you will take12 general core modules. In the secondyear, you will take 6 General CoreModules, 1 Pathway Core Module, 2Pathway Electives and 1 Free ChoiceElective. In the final year of your studies,you will take 3 General Core Modules,1 Pathway Core Module, 2 PathwayElectives and 2 Free Choice Electives.Classes meet twice each week, and thesessions are two hours long.
At RBS London we realise that you areunique and plans can change.Consequently, there are two opportuni-ties each year for you to join theUndergraduate degree programme orthe Business Management FoundationCourse. The academic year is dividedinto two twelve-week semesters, begin-ning in September and January.
In your first year, you will also take acompulsory module in BusinessCommunication, which will provide youwith the essential communication skillsneeded to succeed in the moderninternational business world.
Each of the degree programmes beginswith Level 1 (the first year), which pro-vides an excellent introduction to theinternational business world, withopportunities to explore the mainareas of study in Global BusinessManagement, Global MarketingManagement, Global FinancialManagement and Global Business &Design Management. The knowledgeyou will gain, together with academicguidance, will help you to choose themost appropriate BA (Hons) degreefor your skills and aspirations duringyour second year of studies.
The Business Management FoundationCourse is a one year full-time pre-uni-versity course designed for those whowish to study one of the degrees pro-vided by RBS London, but whose pres-ent qualifications do not permit directentry.

Our classes are small, with a maximumof 25 students in any class and all stu-dents benefit from a high level of per-sonal attention. Our world class pro-grammes are practical and focus onenabling our students to develop theskills they need to become future lead-ers in the international business world.
Skills and leadership
Every course benefits from additionalcontact time specifically allocated toprovide you with individual help inimproving learning, research, negotiating,presentation and leadership skills.During your second year of studies youwill participate in an off campus leader-ship and teamwork weekend exercise.You will also be encouraged to partici-pate in work experience schemes withsmall, medium and large companies togain valuable practical business skills.

RBS London offers the opportunity forStudy Abroad as an optional semestertowards the end of year two. Theprogramme is known as the ‘Gateway’because the selection of eachdestination represents the Gateway toeconomies and geographical marketsacross the globe. All of the StudyAbroad options are taught in Englishso there are no language restrictionson your selection.
RBS London developed thisprogramme to offer students a varietyof opportunities along with the optionto remain at the London campus viathe Gateway to Europe.

The Business Management FoundationCourse is a full-time, pre-universitymodular programme designed for thosewho wish to study one of the BA (Hons)degrees offered by RBS London, butwhose present qualifications do notpermit direct entry to the first year.
The aim of the BusinessManagement Foundation Course is toprepare students for entry into HigherEducation, ensuring they possess thenecessary knowledge, values, skills andcompetencies to undertake one of theBA (Hons) degree programmes offeredat RBS London.
We place great emphasis on encouragingstudents to reflect on their learning andto be increasingly self-motivated and self-critical, with assignments andexaminations becoming progressivelymore challenging and demandingthroughout the course.

At the end of the BusinessManagement Foundation Course, wewill assess coursework, examperformance and class participation todetermine whether you are ready toproceed onto a degree programme.
Students need to achieve a minimum of10 module credits to progress to thefirst year of the UndergraduateProgramme at RBS London.(Remember to achieve a ‘credit’ you arerequired to pass both the courseworkand the examination assessments of amodule).
Any student achieving 6 credits by theend of their first semester and alsoachieving a minimum average TotalModule Mark of 60% from these willbe offered the ‘Fast Track’ route ontothe BA (Hons) degree programmes (i.e.will be exempt from further study atLevel 0).
You are asked to identify your likelychoice of degree programme when youapply for the Business ManagementFoundation Course but you will havefurther opportunities to confirm thischoice or opt for a differentprogramme during the course.

RBS London’s Masters Programmes aredesigned to enhance your proficiency ina specific area as a continuation fromyour undergraduate studies, or offer achange of career in an increasinglycompetitive job market.
These 180 credit postgraduateprogrammes are full-time and generallyrequire 12 months of study. ForSeptember entry students the first 8months [September – May] is the class-based taught programme, and the final3 months will focus on your individualResearch Project/Dissertation. Studentstaking an Internship do this oncompletion of their research projectand therefore their MA programme willlast 15 months.

With the hassles of daily life sortedout, the Student Centre is there tohelp you get the most out of life inLondon. The Centre arranges regulartrips to cities and sites of historical andcultural interest, including Paris andEdinburgh.

Sport
Regent’s College has a newly refur-bished on-campus gym with weighttraining and exercise machines, plus adance studio and a range of fitnessclasses. These facilities are free for allstudents.
Regent’s College has football, volleyballand basketball teams, competing againstother colleges and universities inLondon. Reid Hall
Housing 240 students, Reid Hall looksout over the lake and park surroundingthe campus. The level of security atthe Halls of Residence offers peace ofmind to students and parents. Acollege representative is on duty at thefront desk 24 hours a day and you willhave keys to both the main door andyour own room. Rooms are availableas singles, twins or triples.
Each twin room is furnished with 2beds (usually bunks), night stand,wardrobe, desks, chairs and studylamps. Linen and duvets (comforters)are provided. Fresh linen is alsosupplied every two weeks. There isInternet access in the lobby of ReidHall and all bedrooms. Reid Hall alsoprovides a coin-operated launderettefor students to do their own laundry.
Oliver Hall
Oliver Hall is a small, self-containedresidence of 12 twin rooms located inthe main campus buildings. The Oliverrooms have similar securityarrangements to Reid Hall withresidents holding pass keys allowing fulluse of Reid Hall services.

Payment of fees
Students who begin a course and thenwish to withdraw must do so officiallyin writing using the Withdrawal fromStudies Form.
Once a student has officially withdrawnfrom the School, they may claim arefund of tuition fees. Requests forrefunds of tuition fees must be made inwriting to the Finance Manager, andmust be made within 2 weeks of theirofficial withdrawal date.
Refunds will be given in accordancewith the following scale:
� Withdrawal within the first two weeks after the official registration date: 80% of tuition fee
� Withdrawal within the third week after the official registration date: 60% of tuition fee
� Withdrawal within the fourth week after the official registration date: 40% of tuition fee
� Withdrawal after the fourth week after the official registration date: no refund
The official registration date referred to above is that appropriate to the first semes-ter of study in the year for which the annual tuition fee has been paid. Appeals con-cerning a refund policy decision may be made to the Finance Manager.

ECO4300 Economics for BusinessExamines some microeconomic theoryand then goes on to provide a solidfoundation in macroeconomic theoryand policy. FIN5900 Principles ofFinancial ManagementProvides students with anunderstanding of the principles ofFinancial Management and enablesthem to make standard investment andfinancial decisions both in the long- andshort-term. Upon successfulcompletion, students will be able tounderstand the functions of financialmanagers and to make decisionsrelating to the control of stock, debtorsand other elements of working capital.They will also be able to interpret thefinancial accounts of a company, usingshare valuation techniques and ratioanalysis.
FIN5840 Global Assurance and AuditDevelops knowledge of the audit andassurance process, and anunderstanding of the changing natureof auditing. Students will be able toappreciate the importance of internalaudit processes and understand theimportance of the external auditregulatory framework. The moduleexplains the operation of the UKtaxation system. It provides studentswith a sound management perspectiveof the UK accounting framework oftaxation. It explains the obligations ofcorporation tax payers and their agent.Upon successful completion of themodule students will be able toexplain the significance of “TaxHavens”, to discuss and assess globalcorporation taxation, identifyingcurrent issues in Europe, the MiddleEast and Russia and to analyse theeffect of International Tax Treaties oncorporate policy.

LAW6710 Corporate Law for ManagersGives students with a broad overviewof the main aspects of company law. Inaddition, they will examine some ofthe current trends in company law toascertain how the field is likely todevelop within the European Union aswell as globally in the future. The management of thedevelopment of new sources ofincome is a high priority for companiesin the 21st century, and this moduleinvestigates the styles of managementwhich need to be present if creativityin the workplace is to be encouraged.
MGT5540 Managing New VenturesExplores the challenges and processesinvolved in the creation of a newventure and managing its futuregrowth. Students will applypromotional copywriting techniques ina creative way across a range of mediaincluding print, packaging, broadcastformats and the Internet. Uponsuccessful completion, students willbecome familiar with the techniques ofcopywriting and the role copywritingand design play in marketing campaignsfrom planning through toimplementation and will develop thenecessary understanding and creativeskills needed to effectively manage thecopywriting.
MKT5780 Public RelationsProvides current and future managerswith an understanding of the role ofpublic relations within an organisationwith special reference to marketingcommunication management. Themodule will examine the essentials ofpublic relations practice, including ananalysis of the many publics with whichan organisation must concern itself,and the communication tools availableto fulfil public relations objectives.Upon successful completion, studentswill be able to understand the role ofpublic relations, carry out a publicrelations campaign, and understand thecomplexities of communication withmultiple audiences in a globalinformation environment, includingissues raised by the internet.
MKT5900 Customer Relationship ManagementExplores the various aspects ofmanaging buyer-supplier relationshipsin both business-to-consumer (B2C)and business-to-business (B2B)markets. The objective of the moduleis to focus on how a customerrelationship management programmeshould be formulated andimplemented. The main areas underreview will be the customer-centricorganisations, customer intimacystrategies, customer communications;the use of CRM software to analysecustomers based on their lifetimevalue; and how to organise for long-

MKT6520 Global Marketing ManagementProvides students with an in-depthunderstanding of marketing strategiesand practices in a global context, byanalysing the global marketingenvironment, marketing opportunitiesand strategy options, and the globalmarketing mix. SKL4200 ICT SkillsProvides a review of the basicelements of computing to ensure thatall students have a firm grounding inbasic ICT skills, particularly in respectof software such as Microsoft word,Excel and PowerPoint. Thereafter,emphasis is placed upon developing amultimedia approach to computer-generated presentations, using state ofthe art digital photography, still and

SKL4300 Quantitative Business AnalysisGives students a quantitativebackground that will enable them tounderstand and to formulate problemsrelevant to the numerical side ofmanagement and business.Considerable emphasis is placed uponworking through practical examples.Upon successful completion, studentswill be able to understand and toanalyse statistical data. They will alsoknow how to present numerical resultsin the most appropriate formats.
SKL4400 Research SkillsAims to address the evaluativeprocesses and practical difficultiesfaced by students when required bytheir tutors to produce such writtenassignments based on primary andsecondary research. Through acombination of lecturing, and work-shop style sessions in the IT centre,students will be equipped with thebasic skills and theoretical backgroundneeded to produce effectivelyresearched pieces of work within thetime constraints imposed by lecturers.
STG5500 Business PlanningServes as a key preparation for Level300 studies, integrating elements ofmarketing, finance and research, andproviding a bridge to the requiredLevel 300 modules of CorporateStrategy and the Dissertation. A keyelement of any viable business shouldbe a practical business plan, outliningthe market opportunity and theresources required to meet the needidentified, along with a plan of whatneeds to happen and when. Thismodule exposes students to businessplanning, outlining the elementsrequired, and having them construct abusiness plan for an SME business oftheir own choosing.
STG6100 Corporate StrategyExplores how organisations can createand implement strategy. Emphasis willbe placed upon larger organisations.Upon completion of this module,students will understand where anorganisation currently is, where it mightwant to get to, and how it might getthere. This involves understanding whatis going outside the organisation (interms of the environment/ industry/market etc) and internally (culture,structure, etcetera), as well as howthey might go about the messy
process of managing change. Asignificant number of tools andtechniques will be covered. By the endof the course students will be able tocombine the insights from a range ofthese techniques to give a multi-faceted view of the organisation, itssituation and what it should do.
STG6330 E-Business StrategiesExplores many different aspects ofconducting business over the internet,particularly from marketing andstrategic perspectives. A variety ofbusiness modules will be examined,including business-to-business, business-to-consumer, and consumer-to-business. Upon successful completion,students will be able to analysecritically the business model of a firmand to determine the role that theinternet and related technologiesshould play in supporting or enablingthe model. They will also be able toproduce an E-Business start-upstrategy and present it in a professionaland concise manner.
STG6730 Strategic ThinkingThis module builds on the tools andtechniques introduced in theCorporate Strategy module. It givesstudents practice in using the tools in amore holistic fashion, giving them agreater appreciation of which toolshould be used when, and adding awider range of techniques. In particularthis module devotes significant spaceto Strategy Dynamics approaches,viewing organisations and many of thethings they deal with (includingcustomers) as resources, andencouraging students to map theinteractions between these resourcesto better understand and potentiallymanage the business dynamicsinvolved.

The Dissertation Modules (twosemesters). Provides a uniqueopportunity for every student to carryout a significant piece of independentstudy of 10,000 words relevant toher/his chosen degree pathway. Classsessions aim to show students how todesign, plan and execute researchprogrammes, and to present resultseffectively. Upon completion, studentswill be able to identify an issue orproblem in Global BusinessManagement, Global Business andDesign Management, Global FinancialManagement or Global MarketingManagement that merits furtherinvestigation and to design andimplement a research programme thatcan address the issue or problemeffectively. They will also know how toanalyse the research collected and toplan and produce a well-planned andwell-written report.
