Since The Beginning

In the beginning the internet was looked at as something to find information, and surf. The web designs were basic, plane, and just boring. It was just something put together just for the readers to get their information and leave. Through out the years the web has changed drastically. More sites have been built, more fascinating designs have caught the eye of user. Persuading them to stay longer like a online version of Holiday Inn.

Now, we have a new age that has ushered its way into our minds, mobile access and tablets. Since these two things came on the scene, the PC/Laptop has started to look like dinosaurs.

Just Look At The Facts As of May 2013

91% of American adults have a cell phone 56% of American adults have a smartphone 28% of cell owners own an Android; 25% own an iPhone; 4% own a Blackberry

As of September 2013 24% of Americans ages 16 and older own an e-reader 35% of Americans ages 16 and older own a tablet computer

67% of cell owners find themselves checking their phone for messages, alerts, or calls — even when they don’t notice their phone ringing or vibrating.

44% of cell owners have slept with their phone next to their bed because they wanted to make sure they didn’t miss any calls, text messages, or other updates during the night.

Just by looking at those numbers it tells me that there had to be major revamp of web designs on the web. In order for so many people to to look at a website on a mobile device or tablet it has to be able to fit. There is curtains templates or codes you have to put in so your phone browser can pick it up. So through out the years web design had no other choice but to change.

There are eight great software tools you can use so your website is accessible on all devices.

Mobify- Mobify allows you to create a mobile version of your website through an intuitive and user-friendly graphical user interface (GUI). Setup

is a breeze, and you can have your very own mobile site in minutes. Wirenode- mobile website generator that has helped more than

50,000 websites create mobile-device-friendly versions of their sites.

Mippin Mobilizer- If you're strapped for time, Mippin Mobilizer is a no-frills tool that will take you minutes to use. All you have to do is enter your site's RSS feed URL, configure some options, sign up for an account, install some code on your site, and you're done! As you set up your mobile site, it has a live preview on the right-hand-side so that you can see the progression of your site's design as you configure it.

Onbile- Onbile promises that you can have a mobile version of your site in five minutes or less. It delivers this promise by giving you an intuitive user interface for constructing your mobile site and a custom-generated script to paste into your index page so that when mobile device users visit your site, they are redirected to the mobile version.

Winksite- If you're interested in creating an online community based around your mobile site, check out Winksite, a web app for building a mobile community for your website.

MobilePress- A free WordPress plugin for creating a mobile theme for your WordPress-powered site. Another WordPress plugin to consider is WordPress Mobile Edition.

iwebkit- iWebKit is a simple framework for creating your own iPhone/iPod touch apps.

MoFuse- MoFuse is loaded with a large set of features for building and managing your mobile site.

As you can see there are many tools you can use to create effective websites that will work on mobile devices and tablets. You have to think outside of the box when getting the user attention. If you where the user, what would catch you attention and draw you to the site. Those are the steps you have to take to be successful in this day in age

Conclusion

In conclusion changing the web design is the best thing to do if you want to keep up. Using one of the 8 software tools should have your website up and running within a couple of days, if not that same day.

Also make sure you keep your web site current and up to date. Users want to see new information on websites and nothing that is old and used.
