• Started as a JV with Bendix for Truck Air Brakes in 1983.

• Bosch acquired business to become the co-promoter of KBX in 1995.

• Bosch purchased Kalyani Group holding in KBX in 2005.

• Officially changed name to BOSCH CHASSIS SYSTEMS INDIA LTD. In 2006.

Information Technology (IT) refers to the collection of data from various corners using various channels (sources), processing of data meaningfully, and dissemination of data across the lines to the recipient.

It includes –

• Data management.• Networking.• Engineering computer hardware.• Database and software designing.• Management and administration of entire systems.

IT INFRASTRUCTURE AT BOSCH

• Initially started with 20-30 desktops and few servers.

• Today 250-300 desktops and 50 laptops. • Today company has 20 servers with ULTRIM drives. • Annual maintenance for the department is 4 lakhs. • BOSCH also has video conferencing facility at Chakan plant.

• Earlier HCL was partner for maintenance & development.

• Now KPIT looks at maintenance & development.

• Also BOSCH has close circuit cameras installed at production line as one of the security measures.

ACCESS AND SECURITY

Access card is given to every employee.Card is used for - entry

- exit - at canteen etc.

This data goes to HR department through LAN spread all over the premises.

This data is then used by HR department for employee leaves, issuing salaries and other employee concerns.

Function: Tracking incoming and outgoing data. Maintaining log with added security. Acts as a converter.
