Blanc – Evaluated To start our project we all came up with our own ideas and created our own individual designs for what we wanted our product to be called and look like. After collating our ideas we sat down and pitched them to each other. I wasn’t sure what I wanted the product to be called to I used the name ‘Fresh Gum’ as a placeholder so that I could move on to the design process and ensure that I’d have something to contribute in the company meeting. During the meeting Liam and I worked on the name and the themes of our product, we looked through various font styles to help us determine how we wanted our logo to look. Eventually we decided to keep just the text as we thought it looked minimalistic and professional. I was very happy with my initial ideas and how they had been developed to create our final product. This is our final logo and was used in the product designs and print adverts (below).

Blanc – Evaluated

To start our project we all came up with our own ideas and created our own individual designs for what we wanted our product to be called and look like.

I designed the product using both the 5 Gum and Wrigley’s Extra product designs while Liam created the CAD net to be printed on thin glossy card.

After James Gulliver and I worked on the Web and Print adverts:

This is the bus advert, it has a QR code so that customers can use their smart phones to scan the back of the bus and purchase our product on their phone.

This is the web advert, although it is similar size to the bus advert it was changed so that it could be clicked and would work better when placed on a website:

We worked together on our print and video advert as it allowed us to collaboratively contribute our ideas and shape our brand image.

Our Strengths

- Our product was well presented and we had selected a clear target audience- Our product design was clean, minimalistic and simple- We worked well in our group and everyone pulled their weight

Our Weaknesses

- Time management- Content management- Ensuring that everyone in the group had the files that they need

Our production went very well, we were granted permission to use a teacher’s car in our advert and we had the whole advert filmed in the space of 2 weeks. Liam then edited the final ad and uploaded it to YouTube ready for presenting.

If we had done the task again I would like to have created a different product and take a different approach to the task but I would keep the same group as I think that we worked well together.
