• Invented by Olivier Soudieux, speaker and adventurer. Check his website http://www.vialaventure.fr/

Game #1: The Crevice

• Preparation

– People in pairs

– Inside, use Scotch tape. Outside, I used rope and tent pegs.

– Create 2 parallel lines on the ground, separated by about 1,50m / 2 m. The zone between the 2 lines is the crevice.

Game #1: The Crevice

• First Round

– Each pair needs to move from one side of the crevice to the other, without falling into the crevice (the grey zone), while always touching hands (palms in contact, not crossing fingers).

– If they fail, of course they can try again.

Game #1: The Crevice

• Next Rounds – Now the finish side of the crevice will get wider. So this will force partners to

lean on each other.

– The idea is for each pair to decide how wide they suppose they can reach.

– Each pair can make several attempts. If they succeed, they can try and get even wider and wider.

– You can have a little competition and challenge the different pairs to have the widest crevice.

Game #1: The Crevice

• Conclusion – During the game, you can show them the importance of trust (you

have to lean heavily on your partner to get the best results).

– Show them also how training and practice is key to better performance, and how watching others also allows you to improve.

– The role of a coach is interesting as well.
