The objectives of the study are To review and upgrade the taxonomical

rearrangement as depicted in present literature following OBC checklist

To review and update the distribution and status up to subspecies level of all the species of family

Strigidae,Cuculidae, Alcedinidae,Psittacidae & Indicatoridae which are present in Pakistan.

To revise and update information including breeding biology, habits, habitat utilization, food and vocalization etc. of all subspecies relevant to the study.

Objectives

To revise and update information including breeding biology, habits, habitat utilization, food and vocalization etc. of all subspecies relevant to the study.

To update the checklist of the birds of family Strigidae,Cuculidae, Alcedinidae,Psittacidae & Indicatoridae found in Pakistan.

Materials and Methods In order to review and update the information,

literature was cited from all available and published sources and subsequently was checked and counter-checked by using electronic and printed information.

Information’s were also verified from unpublished records and were corrected and updated after vigor’s discussion with the supervisor.

It was not possible to verify all information by capturing, sighting, and mist-netting the species in their distributed areas due to obvious technical reasons. However, mist-netting was performed at conceivable sites and the information was upgraded where deemed necessary.
