NI2010
whitecollarboxing.ie is delighted to bring its version of this honoured and ancient sport to Belfast, the traditional home of boxing on this island. We join with family members, work colleagues, friends and boxing enthu-siasts, who make up tonight’s audience, in wishing our fighters a safe and memorable night which we hope will exceed all expectations.
Climbing into a boxing ring is a life changing experience. From the prefight nerves to the goose bumps and adrenalin rush as the crowd chants your name during the contest; only on leaving the ring will our fighters realise that they have completed a truly amazing journey. They have swapped the safety of their office chair for the thrill and adrenalin rush of the boxing ring.
At whitecollarboxing.ie we strive to bring the benefits of boxing to a new audience. We believe that boxing can help individuals in their everyday lives whether dealing with pres-surised situations or calling on courage to overcome fears.
With backgrounds in both professional and amateur boxing, our trainers are the best in the business. They carry experience from the Olympic Games and numerous professional title fights and specialise in teaching adult beginners the noble art of boxing.
As a former Olympic heavyweight competitor, I understand and share with all our contend-ers the nervous energy, anxiety and the desire to do justice to the long hours of prepara-tion they have put in to survive a few short minutes in the ring. The whitecollarboxing.ie experience is wholly centred on the journey our fighters undertake and with this in mind I would like to thank event sponsors, The Daily Mirror.
I doubt you need further encouragement to enjoy the night but to help you sample the atmosphere of professional championship boxing our Master of Ceremonies for the night is local sports personality, Adrian Logan. So, in the words of internationally renowned boxing commentator, Harry McGavock, “Let’s get ready to rumble!”
