Contenders Rating Scale:Mathematically being a Clairvoyant on the Football

League Table


The Contenders Rating Scale (CRS) is the approach employed to having an analysis and postulation of the final table outcome, having

considered the Top 5 teams in the league in view over the last 5 years prior to the season in view.

The CRS entails being a clairvoyant on a minimum of 3 teams that could have a top 5 finish at the season climax (in no particular

order).

What are the aims of the CRS?

To week in week out build the excitement of the football

season;

To have an upbeat

approach to predicting the log across the major football

seasons;

To be perceived as the “table log magician” across the 5

major European football seasons,

• A close check on the top 5 teams in each of the last 5 years (seasons) -2008/2009, 2009/2010, 2010/2011 and the 2012/2013- preceding the season in consideration.

1. Top 5 placement check

• In analysing the last 5 years thereby paying attention to the top 5 teams in these years, a 5 mark (point) scale would be given to each team based on their final league table placement.

2. The allotment of grade points/marks

• Points gotten by every team that had a top 5 finish would be summed up and the teams with the top 5 points would make the cut (Contenders Rating Scale table)

• In analysing the last 5 years, paying attention to the top 5 teams in these years, a 5 mark (point) scale would be given to each team based on their final league table placement.
