The World Championships (pictured right)

turned into one of those events that were

so close to being what you wanted without

quite getting there.

A difficult preparation where I missed six of

the last thirteen weeks with sickness left

me just short of the form I need to win the

event.

A finishing position of 7th was my third top

ten finish and the World Championships and confirmation that I certainly have the ability to win

under the right circumstances.

During the lead in I also took 2nd place at the Australian Duathlon Championships in Adelaide. It

was a tough race in horrendous conditions, but I battle through and caught the leader with 200m to

go only to cramp in both hamstrings as I took the lead!

While in Hungary Triathlon Australian announced their new Australian Championship Series.

The three high profile races of Geelong, Mooloolaba and Sydney will be the focus of my season. With

them all being at the end of the domestic season it gives me a good chance to build slowly through

the season before peaking for these races.
