• Both Territories, although in opposing hemispheres, are at the same distance from the Equator, in parallel 32, Madeira to the North and South Africa to the South, thus sharing the characteristics of a Subtropical climate;

• The difference between time zones of the two countries is only one hour in Summer, eliminating this way the threat of jetlag;

• The Island of Madeira is close to the half way mark between Northern Europe, Northern America and South Africa;

• It is a developed European Region very close to Africa.

climate and altitude• Madeira presents a variety of micro climates that provide a wide

choice of conditions for specific training needs;

• Subtropical climate with Ocean facing escarpments and interior plateaus with similar altitudes;

• Plateaus famous for the sunny days, with low temperatures and at times with high levels of humidity;

• Similar atmospheric pressure values at sea level – 1000 hPa, and in altitude, close to the 1600 meter mark – 800 hPa;

• The temperature variations in the coastal towns in both territories, in the given months, range from 10º C and 21º C.
