The shot put is a track and field event involving throwing/putting a heavy metal ball as far as possible.

The shot put competition for men has been a part of the modern Olympics since their revival in 1896, women's

competition began in 1948.

BIOGRAPHY

Valerie Kasanita Adams was born on 6th October 1984 so she is 27 right now. Her birth was given by her mother ‘Lilika Ngauamo’, in Rotorua, New Zea-land. She weighs 120kg and 1.93m tall. Her brother Steven Adams is a New-Zealand bas-ketball Player. He was born in Wellington. Another sir name for Valerie Adams is ‘Valerie Vili’. She was coached by Jean-Pierre Egger and now she lives and get coached in Switzerland. She was married to Bertrand Vili, a dis-cus thrower from New Caledo-nia. She competed in Sydney, Beijing and London.
