Taking stock of the Christmas Truce of 1914, both sides claimed God's favour. How did we get to such a contradiction? Looking at history, theology, the myth of redemptive violence and just war ideas; suggesting we need to take stock of failure of JWT to stem tide of violence. World War 1 and its first Christmas are the starting point.
