So the law was our guardian until Christ came that we might be justified by faith. (Gal 3:24 NIV)

Guardian someone who was granted authority over a minor

(child).Held in custody protection & supervision

Locked – up prisoners The LAW is best guardian but it would never be equal with

the FATHER.

LAW the rules and regulations that God gave to Moses at Mt

Sinai.It has impacted majority of world’s governments and

legislations.The pinnacle of morality.The pinnacle of religiousness.The Handbook of health and

Under ReligionWhat I am saying is that as long as an heir is underage, he is no different from a slave, although he owns the whole estate. (Gal 4:1NIV)

Underage Heir those who were chosen by God for salvation but

were not yet saved.

He lives as slave of the law.

LEGALISM the belief that salvation, spiritual growth, and maturity is by faith plus good works (obedience to laws and

regulations).

Under ReligionThe heir is subject to guardians and trustees until the time set by his father. (Gal 4:2 NIV)

Under ReligionSo also, when we were underage, we were in slavery under the elemental spiritual forces of the world. (Gal 4:1-3 NIV)

Elemental spiritual forces of the world refers to all world

religions including cults and occult.Before faith came, we were all

slaves to all kinds of religion and legalism.

The LAW is good but we need CHRIST!

Under the Redeemer25 Now that this faith has come, we are no longer under a guardian. 26 So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, (Gal 3:25-26 NIV)

Faith gives us:INDEPENDENCE:

Freedom from all forms of LEGALISM.INDENTITY:

Children of God through faith.

Under the Redeemer27 for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. (Gal 3:27 NIV)

Faith gives us:ALLEGIANCE:

Baptized in ChristMORALITY:

Under the Redeemer28 There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there

male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 If you belong to Christ,

then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

Faith gives us:EQUALITY:

No more racial, social, and sexual distinction – “one in

Christ”

PRESTIGE:Abraham’s seed and heirs

“We may have all come on different ships, but we’re in the same boat now.”

Under the Redeemer4 But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship.(Gal 4:4-5 NIV)

Faith gives us:REDEMPTION:

To rescue, ransom, and buy a person from the slave market – “redeem those under the law”.

RELATIONSHIP:Adoption to sonship

Under the Redeemer6 Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, "Abba, Father.“ 7 So you are no longer a slave, but God's child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir. (Gal 4:6-7 NIV)

Faith gives us:INTIMACY:

Closeness and direct access to the Father – “Abba, Father”.
