Every Christian will go through a

season of testing and trial and faith will

be refined like gold in the fire

1Peter 1:7

So that the tested genuineness of your

faith—more precious than gold that

perishes though it is tested by fire—may

be found to result in praise and glory and

honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

A FAITH THAT’S TESTED IS A

FAITH THAT CAN BE TRUSTED.

Faith is a rhema word of God and we need

to have a sense of responsibility as we

receive it to act upon it and obey it.

The Golden Statue

• This statue was similar to his first

dream

Daniel 3:1

Some time later, king Nebuchadnezzar

built a golden statue, making it ninety

feet high and nine feet wide. He set it up

in the Dura Valley within the province of

Babylon

The Command to worship the idol

Daniel 3:4-6

4 Then a herald proclaimed aloud:

"People of all nations, and languages

are commanded:

5 Whenever you hear the sound of the

trumpet, the flute, the lyre, the four-

stringed lyre, and the harp, playing

together along with various

instruments, you are to fall down and

worship the golden statue that was

set up by King Nebuchadnezzar

worship is immediately to be thrown into

the blazing fire furnace."

IDOLATRY IN THE HEART OF

NEBUCHADNEZZAR

• PRIDE, GLORY, POWER,

• The root of idolatry is man becoming God.

The road of Power & Glory

may lead to idolatry to self

Therefore as man receives power and

glory, he must go through the fire to

cleanse himself

Satan’s pitfall ; he walked in the aisle of power & glory

Day Star, son of Dawn! How you are cut

down to the ground, you who laid the

nations low!

Today many people boast of their success

like a grandeur worship song , they exalt

themselves like the tower of Babel, the

tower of pride.

PRAYS

1 By the waters of Babylon, there we

sat down and wept, when we

remembered Zion.

2 On the willows there we hung up our

lyres.

Three Friends Refuses

to worship the Idol Image

Daniel 3: 12-13

12 "Certain influential Jewish men whom

you appointed to manage the city of

Babylon—Shadrach, Meshach, and

Abednego—have neither paid attention to

you, your majesty, nor served your gods.

And they won't worship the golden statue

that you set up.“

Daniel 3: 12-13

13 Nebuchadnezzar flew into a rage and

furiously ordered that Shadrach,

Meshach, and Abednego be brought

before him.

THREE QUALITIES OF STANDING

IN FAITH

Faith obeys God instead of

following man.

Daniel 3:16

16 The three men replied, "Your Majesty,

we don't need to defend ourselves

• The three knew how to answer the

King in humility.

• Most Christians will engage in verbal

fight just to defend the faith.

Faith believes in spite of what it

sees.

Daniel 3:17

17 If we are thrown into the blazing

furnace, the God whom we serve is able

to save us. He will rescue us from your

power, Your Majesty. NLT

The eyes of Faith is more powerful than

a natural eyes because it sees what

God is going to do.

Jesus has His eyes focused on God the Father

John 5:19

18 But even if [God] doesn’t, we want to

make it clear to you, Your Majesty, that we

will never serve your gods or worship the

gold statue you have set up.”

Faithful obedience is our responsibility.

The outcome is God’s .

19 Then Nebuchadnezzar was filled with

fury, and the expression of his face was

changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and

Abednego. He ordered the furnace heated

seven times more than it was usually

heated

GOD is in the fire.

24 Then King Nebuchadnezzar was

astonished; and he rose in haste and

spoke, saying to his counselors, "Did we

not cast three men bound into the midst of

the fire?" They answered and said to the

king, "True, O king.“

25 "Look!" he answered, "I see four men

loose, walking in the midst of the fire;

and they are not hurt, and the form of

the fourth is like the Son of God."

3 FRIENDS –buys gold refined in fire

• 3 FRIENDS – buys gold to Jesus to avoid

being lukewarm in Babylon

refined by fire, so that you may be rich,

clothe yourself and the shame of your

nakedness may not be seen, and salve to

anoint your eyes, so that you may see.

TODAY: MANY WILL GROW COLD IN THEIR FAITH

12 And because lawlessness will be

REFINED BY FIRE

• Gold are first taken from soil and needed to

be refined in the fire to remove the dross

• Low grade gold usually melt

• High grade are ones who passed the test of

fire 7x and are kept in the Central Bank

treasury.

JESUS IS THE STANDARD OF EVERY TEST

• HE IS THE FIRE

Heb 12:29 for our God is a

consuming fire.

• HE IS THE LION OF JUDAH –

He is the Lion with Daniel

Coming out of the test

27 And the satraps, the prefects, the

governors, and the king's counselors

gathered together and saw that the fire had

not had any power over the bodies of those

men. The hair of their heads was not

singed, their cloaks were not harmed, and

no smell of fire had come upon them.

Daniel 3:27

Nebuchadnezzar exalts God

29 Therefore I make a decree: Any

people, nation, or language that speaks

anything against the God of Shadrach,

Meshach, and Abednego shall be torn

limb from limb, and their houses laid in

ruins, for there is no other god who is able

to rescue in this way."

30 Then the king promoted Shadrach,

Meshach, and Abednego in the province

of Babylon.
