Royal Order of Jesters: Explaining the Motto “Mirth Is King”
● The world as we know it is full of despair and desperation, terrorism, inconceivable acts, and misery.
● The philosophy of the Royal Order of Jesters is to avoid wallowing in unhappiness over one’s circumstances and, instead, to embrace good will and cheerfulness.
● The motto “Mirth Is King” explains this purpose and core belief of the organization.
● Mirth is defined as a sense of gladness, of gaiety, and is commonly expressed through laughter.
● Synonyms include merriment, amusement, fun, glee, hilarity, and joyousness. Using mirth as a focal point, the Royal Order of Jesters prioritizes mirth over melancholy at every given opportunity.
● It is therefore expected of every member serving the Royal Order of Jesters that they share happiness, good feelings, and laughter, both among members and the wider public.
● Mirth is accepted within the organization as a suitable antidote for depression and sorrow.
● The mandate to spread mirth was delivered to all members of the Royal Order of Jesters at the First Annual Meeting by Royal Director William S. Brown.
